Keep cool at McMahon’s
If warmer temperatures have you running for cool treats, we highly recommend a stop at McMahon’s Ice Cream at the northwest corner of Warner and McQueen. This locally owned shop has been serving scoops to Chandler residents for over 20 years, and their unique twists on a cold classic keep patrons coming back time and again.
McMahon’s specializes in small batch ice cream in original flavors, with constantly rotating options. Some of the delectable flavors you might find upon visiting include carrot cake, Sun Devil Snickers, banana cream and Nilla wafers, and AZ Honey Vanilla.
For those with dietary restrictions, including lactose intolerance, McMahon’s has dairy free choices that are just as mouthwatering as their original counterparts: lemon sorbet, vegan chocolate banana, coyote cherry ice, and more.
What appears to be a simple shop not only serves up one-of-a-kind local flavors, but also knows how to keep it fun for all ages. When you complete their standard punch card with ten punches, you win a chance to “spin the wheel.” Prizes include free scoops and best of all, a chance to win free ice cream for one year!
If you haven’t quite gotten to your ten punches yet, McMahon’s also hosts monthly customer appreciation events, which they announce on their Facebook page. Customers can earn tickets into a monthly raffle for gift certificates through a variety of ways, such as spending $10 in one visit, bringing a “new” friend into the shop for a scoop, and posting an ice cream selfie.
Speaking of their Facebook, it’s always a good idea to keep an eye on McMahon’s social media accounts, because they’re constantly announcing new surprise flavors, like Chocolate PB Crunch (chocolate ice cream with Nutter Butters and Reese’s Pieces mixed in)!
Whether you visit for scoops of your favorite flavors or for the Chandler shop’s ice cream pies and cakes, you’re in for a treat. With five star reviews on Yelp and Facebook, it’s no surprise this local gem continues to thrive.
